Alleem Books

Alleem Books

Read to grow. Read to lead. Read to change the world.

“I do not write books to fill shelves. I write them so that long after I am gone, my thoughts may still walk into a room, sit beside a stranger, and change something in them forever.”

Dr. Rashid Alleem

Who We Are

Alleem Books, a subsidiary of the Alleem Knowledge Center, was established in September 2001 in Sharjah, UAE, by H.E. Dr. Rashid Alleem. We are a forward-thinking, globally minded, reader-focused organization that champions knowledge, inclusion, and empowerment through reading.

We publish meaningful works that inspire reflective leadership, promote global citizenship, and foster conscious personal and societal growth.

At the heart of this mission is a community—one that brings people together through a shared love of reading, meaningful conversation, and lifelong learning.

Our Mission

To cultivate a welcoming, respectful, and thought-provoking space where diverse voices are honored, curiosity is celebrated, and books become bridges between ideas, cultures, and hearts—and to publish books that matter, offering wisdom for a world in need of thoughtful, purpose-driven voices.

Our Vision

We do not publish to fill shelves. We curate books that challenge, uplift, and ignite change—so our readers think deeper, lead better, and live more consciously.

Our Goal

To champion intellectual value and publish books that educate, inspire, and empower across generations and geographies.

Our Core Values

01

Community

We create a space where every member feels seen, heard, and valued. Our community is built on connection, trust, and mutual encouragement.

02

Curiosity

We honor the power of questions and exploration. Each book is an opportunity to stretch our minds, challenge assumptions, and expand our worldviews.

03

Respect

We listen actively and speak thoughtfully. Disagreement is welcomed when grounded in respect; every perspective brings something valuable to the table.

04

Diversity & Inclusion

We read authors from diverse backgrounds and discuss themes that reflect the full range of human experience. Our shelves are as inclusive as our conversations.

05

Growth

Reading transforms us. We gather not just to consume stories, but to grow—intellectually, emotionally, and ethically. Books are catalysts for becoming more aware, empathetic, and engaged people.

The Beliefs That Guide Us

  1. 1
Reading is a force for transformation. Books don’t just teach us what to think—they teach us how to think, and they inspire change both personally and collectively.
  2. 2
Everyone deserves access to knowledge. No one should be denied the power of a good book, no matter who they are or where they come from. Storytelling is a human right.
  3. 3
Stories connect us. Through reading, we enter lives not our own—and come out more human, more connected to ourselves, each other, and the world.
  4. 4
Reading is resistance. Every page turned is an act of resistance against ignorance.
  5. 5
Reading deserves reverence. Reading is not a luxury—it is a necessity for a thoughtful life.
  6. 6
Lifelong learning is essential. The journey of a reader never ends; every new book is a new beginning.
  7. 7
Reading needs a voice. Reading deserves not just practice, but purpose. Not just praise, but power.
  8. 8
We grow through words. Every book is a seed of resilience, innovation, and hope.
  9. 9
We believe in depth, not just speed. In a world of noise, we promote reflection. Reading should slow us down, ground us, and awaken the mind—not just entertain, but enlighten.

Our Core Reading Values

  1. 1
Lifelong Learning Reading fosters curiosity and continuous growth throughout every stage of life.
  2. 2
Empowerment through Knowledge Reading equips individuals with the insight they need to lead, innovate, and uplift others.
  3. 3
Critical Thinking & Reflection Books teach us not what to think, but how to think.
  4. 4
Cultural Understanding & Tolerance Reading opens windows to other worlds, beliefs, and lives, cultivating empathy and global citizenship.
  5. 5
Creativity & Imagination Through storytelling and ideas, reading unlocks the creative power within each of us.
  6. 6
Informed Decision-Making A well-read society is better equipped to make thoughtful, just, and forward-thinking choices.
  7. 7
Inclusion & Accessibility Everyone, regardless of age, gender, ability, or background, has the right to read and learn.
  8. 8
Emotional Intelligence & Empathy Literature builds compassion by putting readers in the shoes of others.
  9. 9
Self-Discovery & Identity Books help individuals explore their own values, beliefs, and potential.
  10. 10
Resilience & Mental Strength Reading nurtures well-being and offers comfort, guidance, and inspiration in difficult times.
  11. 11
Community Building Shared reading experiences foster connection, dialogue, and civic engagement.
  12. 12
Legacy & Leadership Great leaders are great readers. Reading preserves wisdom and builds visionaries.

Our Manifesto

We believe that reading is a right, not a privilege. It is the bedrock of a free, fair, and flourishing society. Through the pages of a book, we discover who we are, who we can become, and how we can shape a better world for generations to come.

Reading is a declaration of curiosity, empathy, and resistance to ignorance. We read not to escape, but to engage. Through stories, we travel across cultures, live countless lives, and imagine new futures.

We honor every form of the written word—novels, poems, essays, comics, and histories. We reject the tyranny of productivity that labels reading as idle. Reading is labor. Reading is growth.

We read widely, seek out diverse voices, and return to familiar ones with new eyes. We welcome discomfort. We defend freedom. We read not just for answers, but for better questions.

This is our manifesto. This is our promise.

We are readers—and we are never alone.

Our Promise to Readers

We promise to uphold intellectual integrity, elevate diverse voices, and create accessible, thoughtful books that empower readers to think critically and act with purpose.

The Reader We Serve

We serve curious minds, emerging leaders, global thinkers, and everyday readers who seek meaning and depth in what they read. Whether young or seasoned, our readers are united by one desire: to grow.
